Consulate General of Hungary in Hong Kong and Macao
Hungary Re-opens its Consulate in Hong Kong
The Office of the Consulate General in Hungary re-opened in Hong Kong on 14 November 2013, with the opening ceremony officiated by H. E. Péter Szijjártó, Hungarian State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations.
The consular team comprises of:
- Dr. Pál Kertész, Consul-General
- Tamás Fehér, Consul
- Dr. Péter Garai, Trade Commissioner
- Mr. Antal Szudi, Head of Chancery
- Ms Diana Danyi, Head of Culture and Education
The address of the new Consulate General is:
7 Fl, St. John's Building, 33 Garden Road, Central, Hong Kong
The international financial crisis in 2009 led to the closure of a number of consular offices in Hong Kong, including that of Hungary. The re-opening signifies the importance of Hong Kong in accessing the vast Chinese market for Hungarian businessmen and exporters, and in attracting Chinese capital to Hungary.
